Reminds of &quot;Information Rules&quot; by Hal Varian and Carl Shapiro. They state that eventually the firm that emerges as the &quot;Winner&quot; is one &quot;perceived&quot; as a winner by customers and others in a Market. Positive network externalities emerge from belief of users that a specific firm will win...Users eventually &quot;make&quot; it win.
